A number of software outsourcing sites have popped up online. I have now experimented so here are some impressions between Rent A Coder and GetAFreelacner .
Rent A Coder:
Positive Points
1. Intutive, very easy to use for buyers and sellers
2. good fraud security, there are two credit card checks, also excellent and automated escrow service
3. NO BUYER FEES! only the coders pay a commission
4. Very quick start tup time
5. good selection of coders for wide variety of projects (just about any language and internet topic you can think of), very cheap and competitive topics.
Negative:
1. For some topics there is little or few bids, in particular the site is oriented for coding, harder to find translators or other types of work.
2. In general the traffic on the site seems lower than getafreelancer.
3. bids are always hidden from competitor ( this is a negative for me since it bidders tend to compete in the face of other bids, the downside, is that some bids, may not be realitstic, so it depends what you want).
4. filling out the project request form can be long, even for simple projects there is are roughly 8 pages where options need clicking. Unfortunately defaults cannot be saved, for users who propose projects in the same domain.
Get A Freelancer
Positive:
1. Broad arrange of topics, including translators and othersubjects which go well outside the domain of programming
2. Good traffic on the site, I got bids for all projects very quickly.
3. By default bids are public
4. Easier project submission
Negatives:
1. I really find the site not so intuitive , hard to navigate and hard to find what you are looking for.
2. Buyers must pay 3$ or 3% whatever is bigger.
3. Escrow is really not intutive, this is automatic for rentacoder, here you must negotiate with the seller.
